Emily Fessler, from Pennsylvania State University , shares some of her top tips for traveling abroad in Sydney, Australia. She writes:

Sydney, Australia is full of beautiful iconic scenery that every student must see while studying abroad. I vividly remember how surreal that first moment was as I stepped off the bus into the heart of the Sydney Harbor. With the Sydney Harbor Bridge to my left and the Opera House to my right I stood in awe realizing no one would be pinching me from this amazing reality. That spectacular moment was just the beginning of my scenic journey through Sydney as my itinerary was filled with amazing activities and opportunities waiting to be explored.

The class program will take you to amazing sights such as the Royal National Park of New South Wales, the Sydney Opera House, and The Rocks. You will also explore the cultural art of Sydney through contemporary art museums and street art.

What makes this class so unique, aside from the fully packed itinerary, is there are also several opportunities to explore Sydney on your own time. Take this chance to get the most value out of your time over in Sydney. Australia is a beautiful country with so many magnificent places waiting to be explored.

Here is my list of the top five places to visit during your free time to get the most out of your Aussie Expedition:

1. Royal Botanic Gardens

2. Bondi Beach

3. Taronga Zoo

4. Sydney Harbor Bridge Climb

5. New Year’s Eve Fireworks Display in the Harbor
