Calling all Nutella lovers out there! And yes, that includes all the hundreds of students each year on our programs that eat peanut butter and Nutella sandwiches like there’s no tomorrow.

If you’re on a budget or just prefer making things from scratch, then check out this Nutella recipe that Sara from our team found online.

A Beautiful Mess Blog entry credits the recipe to LookBook CookBook and details the steps as follows:

Needed: 1 1/2 cups raw hazelnuts, 1/2 cup sugar, 5 to 6 tablespoons cocoa, 1/4 cup pure maple syrup, 1/4 cup oil (vegetable is suggested) and 2 tablespoons coconut milk.

In a food processor, blend up the hazel nuts until they begin to get creamy (5 to 7 minutes), then add the other ingredients and blend for another minute or two until well combined. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a month.

Blend up that batch of goodness and be whisked back to your hikes on the South Island of New Zealand or in Carnarvon Gorge in South Queensland when you munched on a Nutella sandwich!
