With AUIP back to pre-COVID programming levels, Amy Goodbehere has rejoined the team in the role of Marketing Specialist, providing additional support to AUIP’s faculty and study abroad partners for on-campus recruitment efforts. Having been back for just over a year, she is now in the full swing of things and is in the process of expanding the suite of resources on offer. She says:

“At AUIP, we truly care about our relationships with our university partners, and we strive to make the recruitment process easier for them. That might include working together to create a customized marketing plan, providing professionally designed, university branded, marketing materials for faculty to use on campus, social media content for the study abroad office to share, electronic mailing lists and email templates, or slides to show at class or club visits or info sessions. We are always looking for ways to increase our remote support offerings.”

One of the most exciting marketing projects that is back up and running again is the AUIP Student Marketing Internship Program. Program alumni from select universities can apply for this unique opportunity which provides professional marketing experience in areas such as public speaking, networking, content creation, and video editing. The interns report to Amy remotely throughout the internship as she manages their weekly tasks and projects, and they often work closely with their program’s faculty leader or study abroad office contact, ensuring that they are adding value to the on-campus recruitment effort. In Amy’s words:

“The interns that come on board are passionate advocates for study abroad and are keen to learn handy new skills that will be useful in their future careers and look great on their resume. They are also very excited to have the opportunity to describe the incredible activities they participated in during their program and share their new-found knowledge, understanding that they can help other students decide to have their own once-in-a-lifetime travel experience.

For me, the internship program is incredibly rewarding, not only because I get to pass on the knowledge and experience I have in the marketing field, but also because I get to hear first-hand about the learning journey students have had on their AUIP program and see them continue to grow and challenge themselves in new environments throughout their internship responsibilities.”

The team at AUIP is passionate about ensuring students have the opportunity to experience and learn in this special part of the world and is proud of each and every one of the programs created down here in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Antarctica.

The South Pacific as a destination is as popular as ever, with Australia coming in second as the destination of choice in Terra Dotta’s recent “Voice of the Students” survey, and New Zealand coming in at number three of the world’s most peaceful countries in the latest Global Peace Index by the Institute for Economics and Peace.
