When planning your upcoming trip, browsing the multitude of guidebooks online or crowding Borders’ shelves can be quite a daunting sight. Well, we recently grabbed some copies of Rough Guides and are impressed with the easy to use content.

The introductory “colour” section provides an overall feeling for the country and its offerings. For the first-time visitor to the country, this section’s general comments will orient you. And definitely use the “30 things not to miss” write-up as a starting point of must-see places.

We’re fond of the “guide” chapters that break regions into sections with detailed travel suggestions, such as shuttle companies, beach accommodations and off-the-beaten-path restaurants.

In the Rough Guide to New Zealand, pictured left, we’re impressed to read one of Rough Guides’ favorite Christchurch restaurants is the favorite of our Managing Director Laura: The Bodhi Tree. Although, all our staff have their own picks, too.

One lucky attendee to the Texas A&M Aggies Abroad information session tonight will receive a copy of the New Zealand guidebook, compliments of Rough Guides. It’ll provide a perfect planning tool for free time on the New Zealand program. Be sure to attend tonight at 6 p.m. in Francis Hall, room 109.
