Of course Thanksgiving isn’t complete without turkey, stuffing and an abundance of good times, but our team’s feast included a few non-traditional elements as well.

With our entire team, spouses and a few friends gathered at Managing Director Laura’s home, the head count left Americans as the minority, despite the holiday at hand. Six Americans (mainly ex-pats), ten Kiwis, an Argentine and even one Pom all joined in the festive spirit to celebrate.

In true Thanksgiving fashion, each individual or couple brought a dish to share. The usual suspects of cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans and salads all arrived. Three pies also held a place in the food array: pumpkin, pecan and strawberry rhubarb. Impressively, one staffer even planned ahead and bought pumpkin puree in the States earlier this year so as to avoid the $15 puree purchased last year Down Under.

After devouring two turkeys, a ham and too many side dishes, everyone found a comfy spot in the lounge room to chat away the afternoon. Amazingly, we even found the Texas versus TCU Thanksgiving game on satellite television, not that any Kiwis were substantially interested in watching.

We hope your Thanksgiving proved equally as enjoyable. Did you have an abundance of nationalities in attendance as well?
