Our posts over the past few weeks seem to have a reoccurring theme: the Brisbane floods. Thankfully this bit of news at least shares a bright point in the floods.
Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, which is located just outside the city, staff worked tirelessly during the floods to save over 70 koalas and 40 other animals from the rising waters at the Sanctuary.
Our South Queensland programs visit Lone Pine and will surely be glad to know that the Sanctuary is already open again. Now they are trying to raise money to upgrade and rebuild the animal enclosures on higher ground to better protect the furry friends.
