| About AUIP
American Universities International Programs (AUIP) offers the highest quality study abroad programs at the lowest costs available. We are academics who understand American students' needs, from transferring credit to living in another country. Our staff members have years of experience working with college students and designing international programs that cater to the personal interests, daily needs, and academic goals of our participants.
For nearly 40 years, AUIP has been providing programs that combine rigorous academic study with opportunities for experiential learning outside of the classroom. By combining study at prestigious universities around the world with field and community based activities, AUIP offers students unique ways to explore the culture and natural environments of the country they are visiting. AUIP offers an ideal combination of outstanding academic quality, true cultural immersion, extensive extracurricular and leisure activities, and the social opportunities of a university environment.
Mission
The mission of AUIP is to promote international cooperation and understanding by providing opportunities for Americans to experience first-hand the cultures and environments of the South Pacific region. Our programs provide experiential learning through classroom-based and field activities. Our programs encourage participants, academic faculty, local suppliers and our employees to engage in cross-cultural dialogue and interaction that will result in an increased respect and appreciation for other cultures and environments, as well as helping them understand their home culture.
Our programs will have impacts on participants for the rest of their lives. Our goal is to foster global citizens by challenging participants to use their travel experiences to actively promote intercultural understanding and cooperation, overcoming cultural and national barriers and forging international partnerships once they return home. This may be as simple as students talking to their friends and family about their overseas experiences, or as far-reaching as faculty forming international collaborations and research initiatives.
Our specific focus is on the Pacific region, because these are the cultures and environments we know best. We believe that the South Pacific region provides a safe and relatively easy environment for Americans to learn about other cultures and environments, and that it will encourage Americans who would otherwise be unlikely to travel overseas to gain a new thirst for travel and international experiences.
