While it may sound cliché, my study abroad experience on the southern island of New Zealand really was a “life-changing” experience. Though I had been out of the country before (some may say Canada doesn’t really count), it was my first true overseas trip to a noticeably different country. For months afterward, I’d tell anyone who would listen about New Zealand and the stories I had gathered there; I just couldn’t keep quiet about it.

That’s why I’m so excited to join the AUIP/Grizzlies Abroad team as a marketing intern at the University of Montana. I will not only be spreading the word about the sustainable business class in New Zealand I took (a joy in itself), but also about other intriguing and tempting programs in the area, like Australia and Fiji.

A little background on me: I’m a returning junior at the University of Montana, studying sustainable business, majoring in environmental studies, and minoring in both philosophy and climate change studies. I was born and grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, and am an avid cyclist (both on and off road), outdoorsman, runner, and a self-professed nerd. I’m extremely interested in sustainable business, solving how businesses can operate without cheap energy, and the greening of the automotive industry.

While my trip to New Zealand was amazing and life changing, I feel that it would be useless without telling people about it and giving them the opportunity to have a life-changing experience for themselves. I’m eager to get started and spread the word about Grizzlies Abroad!
