When traveling around a country, bus travel can significantly reduce your transportation costs in comparison to flights. So long as you aren’t on a tight schedule, then buses offer low fares and the ability to see the passing areas.

Students on our Australia programs have had positive experiences on Oz Experience hop on hop off buses, as New Zealand participants have said the same about Stray buses, pictured left.

We recently read in a USA Today article about BoltBus in the U.S. that offers cheap fares and free Internet for trips between major cities.  We haven’t tried it out yet but think the buses sound appealing, especially as air travel delays and security lines seem to worsen.

Let us know if you’ve tried any buses in the South Pacific or BoltBus.
