From Fredonia on the banks of Lake Erie to our partner at Brockport and from Oswego on the banks of Lake Ontario to Plattsburgh in northeast Upstate New York and to multiple places in between, Eleanor traveled over 1,500 miles in the past two weeks to State University of New York study abroad fairs.

Catching up with our partners and meeting potential students highlighted her week. Most students expressed interest in our Northeast Queensland program offered at Brockport.

The road travel certainly isn’t as glamorous as some people think. With four people including Brockport study abroad advisors, suitcases and marketing brochures, banners and displays all packed in an eco-friendly Highlander Hybrid, the car had no space to spare, as the picture to the left shows.

Nonetheless, the road warriors still had a blast driving all over the state together. “When we weren’t working, Lindsay Herbert made sure to pack in multiple fun activities, including dinners at unique restaurants that are local favorites. Hose 22 in Irondequoit outside of Rochester is housed in an old firehouse and had an intriguing interior décor with historical items,” says Eleanor.

Big thanks to the SUNY study abroad and international education offices for making the fairs successful!
