Each year we receive the opportunity to visit with all our current and potential future partner institutions in one place: the NAFSA annual conference. This year Kansas City, Missouri served as the NAFSA conference site. The Opening Reception, pictured right, was quite overwhelming as over 7,000 people gathered in the Power and Light District to kick-off the week.

On Wednesday, June 2, twenty-five partner representatives attended our AUIP luncheon to be refreshed about our programs and updated on new offerings, such as our university-specific Web sites (check out the Pirates Abroad one as an example) and social media content.

Faculty Dr. Gerard Kyle from Texas A&M University and Dr. Tom Hammett from Virginia Tech University attended the conference as representatives with Laura and Eleanor. Tom and Eleanor joked constantly that the conference name badges should be affixed as head visors instead of lanyards because conference attendees looked at their chests instead of faces when introducing themselves. What do you think about their stylish take on the head visor concept pictured below?
