Happy 2013! Our AUIP team hopes all of you enjoyed the holidays with family and friends. While the New Year just started, our preparations for current and upcoming programs have long been underway.

From recruiting and marketing to logistics and risk management, all aspects of our programs receive attention year-round. In November 2012, we focused on risk management and crisis response by hosting a course in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Led by Bill Frederick, Director of Lodestone Safety International, the workshop provided participants with a solid grounding in the skills and knowledge required for the safety management of international programs.

AUIP staff and international education providers from throughout New Zealand joined together for two days to develop new materials, protocols and plans for responding to emergencies and to test, discuss and develop existing systems.

Participants came away with new strategic frameworks and specific tactics for risk management and crisis response. Additionally, participants commented on the workshop’s conducive environment for scenario analysis and discussion.
