The E-Base on Antarctica’s shores broadcasts year-round educational information about climate change from an education center powered entirely by renewable energy.

Located by a cleared beach on King George Island, Antarctica, the base comes from the tutelage of the explorer and environmentalist Robert Swan. The base runs off completely renewable energy 365 days a year. That’s a feat anywhere, not to mention in Antarctica!

The base teaches about the impact of global warming on the Antarctic and possible implications for people everywhere. It aims to inspire a global audience to tackle the issues of climate change even with small steps in daily life.

If you’re considering our Antarctica program, check out the E-Base Live 365 site for video footage from the base and a sample of the Antarctic.
