While studying abroad you’ll certainly want to acquaint yourself with all the various parts of town. And maximizing your free time requires some transportation faster than your own two legs at times.

Cue the latest mode of public transport in Brisbane for our South Queensland students: CityCycle.

Brisbane’s public bike hire scheme recently opened the 100th station, making the bikes accessible city-wide.

This summer’s students will be the first with the chance to rent the bikes, which launched in October 2010. CityCycle promotes itself as an alternative, sustainable mode of travel in the inner-city. So for our sustainability-focused programs, you can’t have a better transportation at hand.

Be sure to check out the rental location map and the ‘How Does it Work’ webpage for details on CityCycle. Then grab a bike after class to head over to the Valley. Or maybe for a spin out to New Farm Park.
