Mackenzie Erickson, the Eagles Abroad Sustainability in Australia and New Zealand 2015-16 student blogger, writes:

New Zealand has been absolutely amazing! Today we traveled to our last New Zealand city, Queenstown. I can’t believe my time in New Zealand is almost over but I am excited to see what Australia has in store.

During our time here I have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the Maori culture and how they prioritize sustainability in their everyday lives. We participated in a service-learning project in Christchurch, which was a neat and humbling experience. Working closely with Christchurch locals and helping them make their hometown better even in the smallest way was an experience I will cherish forever. I can’t wait to return to Christchurch in the future and see the progress that it will have made.

As for now, we’re learning more about ecotourism and sustainability this week, and having adventures of course.
