Kate Mayfield, the University of Montana’s Sustainability in New Zealand and Australia<\/a> student blogger, writes:<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"Before I jump into this post, I\u2019d like to tell you a little about myself (in hopes you might actually heed my advice on occasion). My name is Kate Mayfield, and I am a 20-year-old University of Montana senior who has an itch to travel and a constant craving for adventure. I am majoring in business administration and am exploring interests in sustainable practices in business. I have traveled to many countries including Canada<\/a>, England<\/a>, France<\/a>, Italy<\/a>, Spain<\/a>, New Zealand<\/a>, and Australia<\/a>, as well as over a dozen states in the U.S.<\/p>\n

When I found out about the AUIP program that travels to New Zealand and Australia<\/a>, I knew that I wanted to be a part of it. The experiences and relationships I gained from that trip have forever changed me as a person, and I am so thankful that I have an opportunity to help motivate others to attend any one of the amazing programs AUIP offers.<\/p>\n

One of my favorite memories in New Zealand was swimming with the dolphins in Kaikoura<\/a>. Being able to coexist with wild animals in their natural habitat opened my eyes to the vastness of the natural world, and was one of the many times I felt more connected to nature during my time in NZ and Sydney.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not claiming to be a travel expert; in fact I am far from it. There is so much left of the world for me to see that sometimes I get overwhelmed and contemplate dropping out of school and buying a one way plane ticket (seriously, that happens a lot). I hope, however, that some of you will find that what I have to say is helpful, and can be a reference for you wherever you\u2019re going. Thanks for reading!<\/p>\n
