Hey you! Yeah, you. Are you thinking about studying abroad but dreading the consequences of paying for it all? Have no fear! Here are some simple steps to help lower your costs while actually on the program.<\/p>\n

1. Spend smart. When visiting a foreign country it can be easy to feel like you need to buy absolutely everything that catches your eye. It\u2019s also easy to just swipe that credit card and worry about it later. Let me tell you, your future self will not appreciate that. When studying abroad it\u2019s important to think rationally about your purchases. For example, your best friend\u2019s sister\u2019s boyfriend\u2019s brother doesn\u2019t need that t-shirt. Buying souvenirs can be overwhelming but remember to think reasonably and make sure you are only getting what you need.<\/p>\n

\"IMG_0974\"<\/a>2. The grocery store is just down the road. Believe me when I say you don\u2019t have to eat out every night of the trip. Get together with some of your travel buddies, have everyone pitch in, and cook a group dinner. Most facilities have a kitchen for you to prepare your food in. Planning some meals ahead will save you in the long run.<\/p>\n

If you look through your itinerary and plan your days in advance, it will save you from feeling pressured to do whatever everyone else is doing even if it is out of your budget. By having your days already and budget already planned, you can easily invite other people along to enjoy the fun, but ultimately you are doing what you truly wanted to experience at the price you can afford.<\/p>\n
