For me, my dream has always been to travel to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newzealand.com\/\">New Zealand<\/a> \u2013 and now this dream is actually becoming a reality. I\u2019ve been given the opportunity to study abroad in New Zealand this summer, and a flood of emotions and questions have been racing through my mind ever since I found out I was accepted into the program: How <a href=\"http:\/\/www.metservice.com\/national\/home\">cold<\/a> will it be, considering that our summertime is their wintertime? Are we going to get to see the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hobbitontours.com\/\">Hobbit Houses<\/a>? Is my <a href=\"https:\/\/travel.state.gov\/content\/passports\/en\/passports\/apply.html\">passport<\/a> up to date? What <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newzealandnow.govt.nz\/living-in-nz\/settling-in\/customs-communication\">cultural differences<\/a> do I need to be aware of? Is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stats.govt.nz\/browse_for_stats\/population\/mythbusters\/3million-people-60million-sheep.aspx\">sheep to people ratio<\/a> really higher over there?<\/p>\n<p>On top of the queries I have about the program and its expectations, I didn\u2019t sign up for it with anyone I know. Thankfully, I\u2019ve met a couple of people in the program already, and three of us are even traveling to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.australia.com\/\">Australia<\/a> together after the program for about a week! Everyone seems incredibly stoked to travel and learn together, and because the program is so structured and detailed, I have a feeling all of us are going to become close very quickly.<\/p>\n<p>During the three-and-a-half-week program we will be constantly traveling up through the south and north islands of New Zealand. We will be learning about the land through personal experiences and from learned local experts. We will be visiting a range of New Zealand\u2019s captivating ecosystems and participating in various activities such as hiking, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abeltasmankayaks.co.nz\/\">kayaking<\/a>, and even <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dolphinencounter.co.nz\/\">swimming with wild dolphins<\/a>!
