As with every study abroad program, academic study was not the only thing that we were doing. Our program combined activities and cultural interactions to enhance our learning in an experiential way. Though some of our group didn\u2019t know how to swim, after donning life jackets and helmets, none hesitated to participate in the kayaking. We spent the day kayaking on the middle portion of the Navua River and also visited a remote village named Wainaduri.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3375\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/auip.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/paddling-along-navua-river.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-1\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3375\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3375\" src=\"https:\/\/auip.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/paddling-along-navua-river.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"Paddling along the Navua River\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3375\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Paddling along the Navua River<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Passing through inland villages and farmlands, the scenery is so amazing that I even thought we were in a movie! There were kids playing around and in the river. They were very friendly and said \u201cBula!\u201d to us, as most of the Fijians had greeted us thus far. First we heard the operator <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zip-fiji.com\/\">Zip Fiji<\/a>\u2019s perspective of their business operations and also discussed some environmental issues affecting their operation. Then, we ascended into the canopy for the ziplining excitement.<\/p>\n<p>We traveled along eight different ziplines through the rainforest canopy and stopped at viewing platforms along the way to appreciate the amazing views and learn about the local area.<\/p>\n<p>Do my photos make you excited about traveling to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fiji.travel\/\">Fiji<\/a>?
