Located opposite Hyde Park, the museum\u2019s $8 student entrance fee makes this a good bang-for-the-buck for <a href=\"http:\/\/auip.com\/programs\/sydney.php\">Sydney program<\/a> participants.<\/p>\n<p>Exhibitions change throughout the year, so be sure to visit their website for exhibition dates before visiting if you\u2019re especially interested in seeing one.<a href=\"http:\/\/auip.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/09\/diprotodon-australian-museum.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-310\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/auip.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/09\/diprotodon-australian-museum.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Our staff particularly enjoyed the Surviving Australia exhibition that showcased Australian animals that have survived, and those that haven\u2019t, the continent\u2019s changing climate, landscape and environment.<\/p>\n<p>Consider the diprotodon, pictured right, weighing up to 2700 kilograms and being the largest of Australia\u2019s megafauna. The animal is now extinct but scientists equate it genetically relative to today\u2019s wombats and koalas but obviously on a much larger scale.<\/p>\n<p>Have you been to the Australian Museum?
