But that\u2019s exactly the case for the resilient Garden City.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2788\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/auip.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/11\/img_1790.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2788\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2788\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/auip.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/11\/img_1790.jpg?w=300\" height=\"200\" width=\"300\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2788\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Punting on the Avon River in Christchurch<\/p><\/div>\n<p>As the only New Zealand city on the list, Christchurch gained the sixth place in Lonely Planet\u2019s top 10 cities in its <i><a href=\"http:\/\/shop.lonelyplanet.com\/world\/lonely-planets-best-in-travel-2013\/\">Best in Travel 2013<\/a><\/i> book.<\/p>\n<p>According to the full story from Lonely Planet <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lonelyplanet.com\/new-zealand\/christchurch-and-canterbury\/christchurch\/travel-tips-and-articles\/77531\">here<\/a>, \u201cHealthy doses of Kiwi inventiveness, creativity and resilience have created positive and innovative urban solutions \u2013 despite the huge ongoing challenge of totally rebooting the city\u2019s central business district. There\u2019s a sense of energy in Christchurch that is informing and inspiring the city\u2019s renewal.
