The didgeridoo-playing Aborigine<\/a> and the cattle warning sign<\/a> in North Queensland<\/a> caught our eye for the Local Culture category. Meanwhile in the Memorable Places category, the rocks at Magnetic Island<\/a> and the beautiful day at Mount Cook<\/a> certainly received votes for awards.<\/p>\n

However while all these photos and the other entries were quite impressive, we\u2019re pleased to announce the 2012 AUIP Photo Contest: Discovering the World Abroad <\/a>winners are:<\/p>\n

Local Culture<\/strong><\/p>\n

First: Maori Girl<\/a> by Samantha Florio from Lions Abroad<\/a> New Zealand\/Sydney program (pictured right)\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Second: Helping \u201cGreen the Rubble\u201d in Christchurch<\/a> by Spud Davis from Eagles Abroad<\/a> New Zealand\/Sydney program<\/p>\n

Third: The \u201cPeople\u201d of Antarctica<\/a> by Shelby Ostwald from Antarctica<\/a> program<\/p>\n

Memorable Places<\/strong><\/p>\n

First: Fishy Friends<\/a> by Callie Setzer from Pirates Abroad<\/a> North Queensland program (pictured left)<\/p>\n

Second: Up Close and Personal<\/a> by Krysta Frye from Deacons Abroad<\/a> South Queensland program<\/p>\n

Third: Wildlife Habitat Baby Wallaby<\/a> by Rebecca Battles from SUNY Down Under<\/a> North Queensland program<\/p>\n

People\u2019s Choice Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n
