The Legatum Prosperity Index <\/a>are ratings that have been published by Britain’s Legatum Institute which is attempting to produce different kinds of indices to mainstream economic scales. The Prosperity Index ranks 110 nations and includes both material wealth and quality of life for each country.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

New Zealand<\/a> received its number one ranking due to high enrollment rates in primary, secondary and tertiary levels of education. There is also near gender equality in primary and secondary education in New Zealand, and the ratio of pupils to teachers in primary schools is above average at 16-to-one. Eighty-four percent of people are satisfied with the quality of education in their local area, and 92 percent of people feel that children are learning and growing every day. The average worker has completed nearly four years of secondary education and nearly two years of tertiary education, placing New Zealand fifth and sixth, respectively, on these variables.<\/p>\n
