Buff legs. And minds full of new knowledge. Yes, that about sums up our Sydney students after their day of walking throughout Sydney.<\/p>\n<p>At the guidance of <a href=\"http:\/\/uws.academia.edu\/MichaelDarcy\">Dr. Michael Darcy <\/a>from the University of Western Sydney, our students learned about the globalization, affordability (or lack thereof!) and urban redevelopment in sprawling Sydney.<\/p>\n<p>Visiting all of Sydney\u2019s 41 municipalities wasn\u2019t possible in one day; however, the areas of Pyrmont-Ultimo, Redfern and Mossman characterized three different versions of Sydney housing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/auip.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/syd-cbd.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-54\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/auip.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/syd-cbd.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a>One tenant in a Redfern public housing tower allowed the students into his apartment to see first-hand the living conditions. Students didn\u2019t expect the sweeping views from the tower north toward Sydney\u2019s central business district, pictured right, in such outdated public housing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hopefully their feet aren\u2019t too tired though because they\u2019re headed to the Sydney Opera House tonight to watch <em>Songs for Shakespeare<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sore feet.
