Kevin is a qualified charted accountant and member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. He has been involved in various industries ranging from manufacturing to media and tourism. Kevin became a Director of AUIP in 2008 after seeing the unique educational study abroad opportunities AUIP offers to students. Kevin has a passion for exploring new educational adventures and activities which provide life-changing, cultural, academic and extracurricular activities for students. His passion has grown to such an extent that you will often see Kevin experiencing AUIP's study abroad programs - and often asking more questions than the students! Kevin also lectures on our business programs.

Originally from Southwestern Virginia, Mary has earned a bachelor’s degree in French and a master’s in Higher Education Administration, studying abroad several times along the way in France, Italy, and Germany. After a year of teaching English in the French Alps, Mary began working in study abroad in 2008 at Virginia Tech, where she helped facilitate AUIP faculty-led programs to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Antarctica. She has since worked with international programs at Boston College, Wellesley College, and Boston University, and has been an active member of the Boston Area Study Abroad Association.
Favourite travel destination: Anywhere with mountains, from the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia, and now to the Southern Alps of New Zealand!
Favourite program activity: Swimming with hundreds of Dusky dolphins.

Helen is a native New Zealander who started her career as a qualified Food Technologist. After 2.5 years backpacking through Australia, South East Asia and Europe, and teaching in Japan, she developed a passion for travel, cultural diversity and international education. After returning to New Zealand, Helen gained 15 years experience in education program management and development. Helen’s life-changing international experiences have driven her to facilitate these experiences for others. Her other passion is competitive table tennis.

Mandala was born in Santa Barbara, California, but immigrated to New Zealand with her family at the age of 6. After finishing high school, she spent a number of years working random jobs to finance her globetrotting, a pursuit which took her to places as diverse as Poland, Canada, India, Russia and Hungary. She returned to education as an adult student and obtained a BA in English and Education, and an MA in English, both from the University of Canterbury. In 2008, she moved to the UK to do her PhD in English at the University of Leeds. She has worked in various capacities in the tertiary sector for 12 years, including tutor, researcher, editor and lecturer. Alongside her job at AUIP, she lectures in English at the University of Canterbury, acts as a private consultant for writers, and works on her own writing projects (both academic and creative). The rest of her time is devoted to growing her two beautiful children, Nadia, age 6, and Nila, age 2.

Brigitte was born in Germany but has lived in New Zealand for over 23 years. She loves to travel around the country, especially the northern part of the South Island (Marlborough Sounds, Nelson, and Abel Tasman). Brigitte has worked in international and domestic education for the past 14 years and has previously worked in the hospitality industry in New Zealand and Canada. She arranges logistics for the in-country programs.
Favorite travel destination: Grožnjan, a small Istrian town in Croatia, a truly artistic beehive. It lives and breathes art with a labyrinth of little streets.
Favorite program activity: Abel Tasman National Park (kayak and walk) - the best of everything in the finest coastal National Park in New Zealand
Top travel tip: Wear sunscreen every day, in all weather and in every season. It should have a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 30.

Karla is a graduate of the University of Southern California and a Colorado native. Her passion for international travel and discovering/exploring new cultures began while working on her undergraduate degree and having the opportunity to study abroad for two semesters in New Zealand and The Netherlands. Her other interests include surfing, water skiing, hiking and photography.
After relocating from the United States to Christchurch, Karla is has enjoyed working with AUIP to inspire and assist all students in discovering and creating their own study abroad travel experience!

Kirsty is a native Kiwi and a graduate of the University of Auckland. For the past 15 years she has traveled the world working in the ski industry and has recently moved to Christchurch. She has a real passion for the outdoors and loves skiing, mountain biking and the ocean. Kirsty is excited to start her career at AUIP in order to assist with their vision to promote global sustainability. She will be working with the logistics team.

A local Cantabrian, Sam joined the AUIP team in 2016 and assists the Logistics team with coordinating the study abroad programs and provides crucial office support for the entire team. A former travel agent, she is an avid equestrian who can be found at horse events on the weekends.

Top travel tip: Those socks and underwear that you wash in the bathroom sink dry a lot faster if you wring them out, lay them flat on a bath towel, roll it up into a sausage, and dance a jig on top

Originally from Palmerston North, NZ, Amy moved to the big cities of Australia and the UK for 8 years to travel, meet weird and wonderful people, and advance her Finance and Events careers before moving back to her home country in 2013. Growing up, she shared her home and family with exchange students from all over the world, and more recently, lived in both the crazy scene of Queenstown and the tiny village of Aoraki/Mt Cook, where she was working as an Event Coordinator for a big hotel. She has developed a passion for sharing the amazing parts of our world with people from all walks of life. She loves to organise EVERYTHING and see everyone having a great time, so is looking forward to seeing the smiling happy faces of those coming to experience Australia and New Zealand in the near future.

Wendy grew up in England where travelling to Europe on holidays as a child fuelled her passion for travel. After graduating from the University of Wales Wendy spent the next few years working in Canada, the U.S. and South Africa, eventually settling in New Zealand with her husband in 2003. She has worked within the travel industry for 20 years in various roles and joins AUIP in the logistics team.

Stephen, a father of two, is originally from New York but has lived in Christchurch, New Zealand for the last 18 years. As well as being a Director of AUIP, he is also a U.S. Certified Public Accountant and Portfolio Manager. Stephen also lectures for AUIP business programs.
