Brian Gore

Outdoor Environmentalist

Brian Gore

Biography

Brian, a New Zealand native, has been a Field Officer with AUIP since 2006. Brian quotes:

“Guiding the students in their New Zealand field work has been a pleasure. Introducing them to the wonderful scenery and the issues we face in maintaining the balance between conservation and productivity is the challenge I enjoy.”

Brian is a keen outdoor environmentalist with a wide knowledge of New Zealand and its natural life and physical features, having explored most places and many of the offshore islands

Following the completion a B.A. at the University of Otago, Brian began a rewarding career as a science teacher and adviser to schools in Otago and Waikato areas. He was awarded a Fellow of the Science Educators Association. Currently, besides his role at AUIP, he keeps busy working as a volunteer guide at the Kiwi Encounter display in Rotorua, the Citizens Advice Bureau, and operates the Serendipity Bed and Breakfast Homestay in Rotorua.

Brian is married to Kate, and together they have 4 adult children.
